A couple of pages

This one is a just because layout. Not a challenge and not blog work. I used mainly washi tape and not much else. Hopefully Josh will grade and get his orange belt in August, but for now he's a white belt.

This one is for the July challenge at Sarahscards. The page is about the Pearl Jam gig that Helen and I went to a couple of weeks ago. It was a 20 year long dream come true for me as they have been my favourite band since I was 16, but I have never seen them live. The top 2 and bottom left pics are from Pearl Jam's Instagram account but the bottom right pic is from my phone at the gig. The paper for the main journalling is My Little Shoebox - Keepsake - Picture Perfect which has musical notes all over it which fit the bill perfectly. The journalling along the lines of the backgroud paper are all of my favourite PJ lyrics. Hope you like it :)

June Challenge

It's Challenge time over at Sarahscards again - your chance to win £20 to spend in the shop. All you have to do is scrap a page based on this sketch http://www.sarahscardsltd.com/ and leave us a link to it.

Here's my version of the sketch:
£20 to spend at Sarahscards sounds good to me! You could try a packet of these lovelies:
I used them to mak these 3 pages:

Details of how I made these pages are here: http://sarahscardsltd.blogspot.co.uk/2012/05/curiosity-got-better-of-me-again.html

May

Yup it's May, nearly June. HOW???
Time is just flying.
The only scrapping I have been up to has been for Sarahscards so I couldn't post my pages until the kits went out, which they now have, so here they are.

It's my turn to post on the Sarahscards blog tomorrow - so watch this space for more from me.

One Month Later

A whole month has gone by since the Sarahscards Retreat. Not sure how, but it has. It's my turn to post again over at the Sarahscards blog.

I've uploaded these layouts, all of which use techniques from the retreat. Pop over and have a look.

wtf???

Have you ever bought papers only to put them on your desk and think "Wtf did I buy these for???" No? Just me? I doubt it. Anyway, I bought these Jillybean "Monster Stew" papers quite a while ago and have used bits of them. I had an urge to use up old stash recently and had a trawl through my papers. Despite the fact I filled a pizza box with papers I am sure I will never use, I told myself I could do something with these. To my surprise I actually enjoyed the LO. Ok, so I didn't use much of the papers, but I did use up lots of old AC Thickers. It was fast; I didn't put too much thought into it; and I think it's funny ;) (H's face is pixellated (sp?) as he isn't my kiddo)

It's my turn over on Srahscards in a few days, so watch this space :)

April Challenge

It's Challenge time at Sarahscards. Tracy found this sketch for the challenge:

She first showed it to me at the retreat when I was feeling tired and uninspired. I set to work and ended up having a complete glitter fest! I used the new DIY Thickers and covered them in the new WOW! Glitter then added a heart of Tombo glue covered in silver WOW! Glitter. By the time I was done I was covered in glitter; the table was covered in glitter and Helen and Tracy were covered in glitter! Oh and the carpet was covered in glitter. In the morning Helen and I found glitter in our beds too! G L I T T E R F E S T !!!

We'd love to see youtake on the sketch so enter you LO into the challenge for a chance to win a £20 Sarahscards voucher. Brownie points from me if you use glitter ;) lol.

Catch Up

Well, it's April already. How the heck did that happen? It's strange to look here and realise I haven't blogged for a whole month because it feels like only a week! I've been scrapping away all month but most of it was for various Sarahscards projects so I couldn't share it straight away.

First off the March challenge was to scrap about your work. As I had just started "working" on the DT, I scraped about it.

Next we had our amazing retreat weekend away. This time around I assisted Helen in her class - her first as a teacher on the DT. This is my version of her Layout.

I ran through Lou's class too, which was fab as always.

All of the class layouts are on the Sarahscards blog for you to take a look at, as are lots of photos of the fab weekend we had. Roll on next March!

The next big thing for me in March was my first blog post as a DT member: http://sarahscardsltd.blogspot.co.uk/2012/03/new-girl-on-team.html

Let me know what you think.

This is the layout from the second part of my blog post. Again all the details and a list of supplies are on the Sarahscards blog.

Last of all this is one of the LO's I completed during our Retreat weekend.

I have 2 more complete LO's on my desk, but I can't share them just yet. Watch this space.

Not quite dozens...

...but I did get my scrap on at our mini crop on Sunday. All the girls were there for the fist time in ages. Sarah, Lianne, Lou, Helen, Vanessa and me. There was plenty of chatting and eating but we actually did scrap too.

This first LO was actually done before Sunday but I haven't shared it yet. It is for Sam's album as I've already done a Christmas Day LO for the big two, but the photos of him on Christmas Day just aren't as nice. So he gets Christmas Eve.
This was my first page on Sunday. The photos were taken by James on Christmas Eve at my Mum's house. The papers are Crate Paper Peppermint Collection.

This one is Sammy's first Nativity bless him. He was a donkey and he looked so proud of himself from beginning to end. The papers are American Craft Chap. I even used Lou's donkey stamp which usually I hate but it actually fits the theme!

This LO is hopefully the last of my Christmas pages (at last!) ... unless I do one for Rowen...

Josh was "Sidney the Shepherd" in his Nativity. I've used the Echo Park "Times and Seasons" papers (even though no one has a moustache in the photos! haha)

I had a fab day as usual when we get together and to top it off Sarah asked me to join the Blog Design Team :) So I am super happy... but a little bit scared lol!

Thanks for reading and don't forget to say hi.

It's A Wonderful Life

I thought I had better post these pages before I create dozens more tomorrow. Dozens? Yes - I'll be scrapping all day tomorrow with my girls. Not gossiping, eating, faffing, giggling.... nope scrapping - all day....

Anyway, the current challenge at Sarahscards is to be inspired by the movies. This year I have scrapped my usual amount of Christmas layouts (i.e. too many!) Each of the boys have a Christmas Day LO, a visit to Santa layout and a Nativity layout (some of which are still W.I.P's). To speed the process up a little I decided to do 3 almost identical LO's with the Santa picture. It is the same picture each time, but as the boys each have their own album I feel they each need their own Santa LO. The strips of patterned paper are all the same (Green: WRMK Show and Tell; Blue: Pebbles Fresh Goods; Red: Jillybean Sweet and Sour Soup). The journalling for each is then specific to each boy with appropriate titles. Hopefully if you click on them they will enlarge. The first here is Sam's page with the title "It's a Wonderful Life" which is my current favourite Christmas movie after finally seeing it for the first time last year, then again this year.

Then Josh's:

 Finally, James's:
This is also for James's album- his Christmas Day LO.

Thanks for looking and I'll be back soon with the dozens of pages I'll make tomorrow.....

Catch up

Just a quickie to share the pages I did for Sarahs January kit.

Look Behind You

Day 1

Funny
(Sam channelling Freddie Mercury)

Sleeping Sam

Take Nothing But Photos
I've still enough of the kit to do a couple more too.

This is a LO using a 6x6 pad of MME Blink of an Eye. I used a couple of those twist ties that were all the rage a few years ago. I chopped some up and just used single words; and the "xoxoxoxoxoxox" across the bottom is another one stapled on.
I'm really dissappointed with this scan - even though I scanned it twice it looks no where near as good as it does IRL. The papers are from a 6x6 pad of MME Kraft Funday with some Elle's Studio bits and bobs too.

Hijacked by a 7 year old.

I was happily scrapping away last week using American Crafts Nightfall when my nosey James asked what I was going to call it. I said "I don't know yet" so he asked me to call it "Looking at a monkey" ...
so I did.

I usually try to scrap equal numbers of pages for each boy, but I hadn't scrapped many pages for James's album recently so the next one is also of him. The photo was taken for his karate license in November so it is a very plain face shot. As I was looking at it I was trying to see if his chicken pox scars were visable - that gave me the idea for the LO. YOu should be able to read the journalling if you click on it . The papers are American Crafts Chap.

I'll be able to blog my Sarahscards pages soon I think, as the kits should have been delivered.

M.I.A

Happy New Year! I didn't realise I had been MIA for so long. Christmas does that doesn't it - steals a whole month of your life away! I've been scrapping as much as usual but can't share 5 of my pages until I know which ones Sarah chose for the Sarahscards January Kit booklet. The kit was lovely and I still have enough of it to scrap a few more pages! Value for ££ :)

I scrapped this page way before Christmas but forgot to blog it. It's my fabulous in-laws with the boys when we were in Scotland in August. We really are lucky to have them. They look after the boys when I am at work and are on hand to babysit the odd time The Husband and I actually go out together. The papers are old MME ones called "Bloom and Grow" and the bird stamp was from a Scarlett Lime kit I got eons ago and have never used. Can you spot my favourite alpha trick? Using a substitute for a letter when I have run out? Answers on a postcard...
This is the start of my New Year Scrapping Resolution. I used to take part in "12 of 12" that was a free to join in scrapping challenge. It seems to have been taken over and commercialised (sp?) so I'm just making my own version up. I am going to take photos of all the mundane "stuff" we do on or around the first of each month then scrap the photos. This is (obviously) 1.1.12. I love, love, love these papers - American Craft Amy Tangerine from Sarahscards.
Lastly, this is a page I had thought about and started but then put aside to focus on Sarahs January kit. I thought the papers were Fancy Pants but they say "Scrap Within Reach" on them "Paper Boy" range. Anyway, it is Josh and his class mascot on a bike ride. There are a few Elle's Studio bits on there too.
So, that's me officially caught up on here until I can blogg the kit LO's.
